Cloud computing is not for the poor!

I don't like cloud computing! Count this post as another reason.

Just a minute ago I have tried Rackspace's Cloud Servers Cost Calculator to see how much a normal server would cost. I was moderate, asked for a server

that have 15.5 GB RAM

that runs for a month

that have  15 TBin and 15TB out bandwidth

Calculator said, $5784 for a month please! I didn't even bother with Amazon. Rackspace supposed to be a lot cheaper!

Now, have a look at Hetzner's top server. It is only €109/$157!

Ok, bandwidth is limited to 5TB but after 5TB they (only) reduce you to 10Mbit.

You could buy near enough 50 servers!
