If you have an old router name stuck on your network folder of windows 7 and you hate it go to
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Network and Sharing Center
click on the ICON of your active network so you can get to
Set Network Properties
there click on
Merge or Delete Network Locations
link and delete ones you don't use and say Hurray!

Windows 7 comes with new cool feature called Virtual Wifi, ability convert your computer to a Wifi Hot Spot. Cool isn't it? But there is a problem.
Assuming your wi-fi card and drivers supports it you'll see another wireless adapter called "Wireless Network Connection 2, Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport adapter".

Problem is that you don't have any obvious way to enable and configure it. You have to use command line.
Launch the command prompt from administrator account.
Type C:\Windows\system32>netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=MYLAPTOPSWIFI key=mypassword
You should see output similar to
The hosted network mode has been set to allow.
The SSID of the hosted network has been successfully changed.
The user key passphrase of the hosted network has been successfully changed.
Type C:\Windows\system32>netsh wlan start hostednetwork
You should see output similar to
The hosted network started.
Now share your active internet connection to this Virtual WIFI and connect from another device to MYLAPTOPSWIFI

Although new shiny windows 7 is better than vista it has some small annoying bits. Call me obsessive but these small issues makes me scream! :)
One of them is Windows Live messenger. If you install it you'll notice that it's taskbar notification icon gone! You cannot minimise it to taskbar notification area.
Workaround is to go to %ProgramFiles%\Windows Live\Messenger\ folder, right click on msnmsgr.exe, select properties>compatibility and set compatibility mode to Windows vista
